Things You Must Know Before You Backup or Restore EILA Database

Before you start take a few moment to learn the following:

1) What is the filename for EILA database
EILA database filename is EILA.MDB

2) Where is EILA.MDB stored?
Location where EILA.MDB is stored is defined in a file named EILA.INI
EILA program accesses EILA.INI to know where EILA.MDB is located at.
EILA.INI is a text file that stores other information such as the location of the forms.
To open EILA.INI follow these steps:

1) Click the "Start" button
2) Select "Run" and you get:

 

3) Type EILA.INI and Click the OK button. EILA.INI opens up and you get something like this:

DATADIR parameter points to the folder where EILA.MDB is located or should be located.

Solution

To Backup your EILA database you need to copy EILA.MDB and paste it to a CD or another folder.
NOTE: You can name your backup copy of EILA database file anything you want. However, when you restore this file you need to rename it to EILA.MDB or EILA woul not recognize it.

To Restore your EILA database you must copy/paste EILA.MDB file from a CD or another folder to the folder that DATADIR parameter is pointing to.
NOTE: Your database file MUST be named EILA.MDB or EILA would not recognize it.
